I should try to update more often. This is gonna be one long ass entry.
Stuart's probably in Spain by now, the lucky bastard. He's going to the Benicassim festival, where he's going to see awesome bands like Kasabian, The Prodigy, Gorillaz and a few more I can't remember right now.
Did I mention that he's a lucky bastard?
I, on the other hand, get to work my arse off with my interim report for my dissertation, whilst it's pissing down outside. Yes, summer in England is lovely. I've never felt colder in summer before. My fingers are numb as I type this post.
I keep having to get up to stir my risotto. Yes, I'm making wild mushroom risotto. :)
Anyways...
It's weird not having him around here. I think we've been with each other literally every day since we met, except for the one Tuesday after we got together. (God, I remember the silliest little details.) The flat feels slightly empty. :( I think next Tuesday will mark 1 month together. :)
Going through some crap that I won't bother going into detail now. I'm trying to take my mind off it by working on my report. So far, I've done basically nothing. Productive, huh? Instead, I fell asleep around 6.30pm and woke up feeling weirdly confused at 9.45pm.
Since I had almost 4 hours sleep, I've decided to stay up till about 3 or 4 in the morning to work on my report. Hopefully I'll get a lot more done.
Mmm, my risotto is awesome. :) And House just seems to get better the second time round.
So, update about the past few days.
I watched Requiem for a Dream last Wednesday, because it came highly recommended by Stuart. It's... interesting, to put it mildly. It's certainly put me off drugs, not that I've ever been interested in taking drugs. Watch it, it's pretty good, in an arthouse kind of way. I did intend to watch it with Stu, but he fell asleep around 8.30pm instead.
Went to Stuart's place on Friday for the weekend. He's got a new housemate now called Chloe. She's so pretty. Wish I was that thin and tanned. Haha.
We walked around a shopping centre in Mansfield and Stuart got a key cut for Chloe and bought season 1 of House as a birthday present for his dad. I should get my dad to watch House too, since it is basically THE best tv show.
We had macaroni and cheese for dinner and watched Disney's Lion King. That cartoon will never get old for me.
Oh yes, how could I forget?! Stuart bought a Nintendo Wii! He got a pretty good deal at Tesco and got a black one, with a few other games. We got back and he put everything together. I beat him at bowling, table tennis and swordplay. I totally rock! :)
Saturday was spent helping Stuart move stuff to make room for Chloe. (when I say helping, I mean more like standing around and watching Stuart move stuff.) We also played Resident Evil on the Wii, which is really fun. We watched Harry Brown and Fish Tank, which are both, in my opinion, chav films. Delightful films, those. We ended the night with Pearl Harbour, which of course got me weeping from the very beginning. Yes, I know, I'm pathetic.
On Sunday, I met Stuart's dad, who came to pick us up for lunch at his house. Can't believe Stuart doesn't put gravy on his food. He couldn't believe I don't like Yorkshire puddings. I met his dad's girlfriend Kay as well, who kind of reminds me of my own mom. Haha, weird. They're both really nice. We spent most of the day there chatting and then we went back to Stuart's to grab our stuff and catch the last train, which, in the end, we didn't because Stuart misread the train times. We started to make our way to the bus stop to catch the bus back to Nottingham, but literally missed it by 20 seconds.
So we went to Stuart's mom Jo's house because he didn't want to walk around with his PS3 or wait at the bus stop for an hour. I got to see where he grew up. :) Jo seems quite nice, but most of the conversation was focused on Stuart because they hadn't seen each other for a long time. We were there for only a little while, and then we left to catch the train.
Had dinner at Higoi with Rik, Tsomo and Stuart on Monday. We (Rik, Stu and me) went to The Grove before dinner for a couple of drinks. The last time we were there, Stuart spilt his drink all down his jeans, haha! After a huge (and very yummy) dinner, we went to The Three Wheatsheaves before walking home.
I should probably get back to work instead of doing this. I shall leave you with my song of the day, Secondhand Serenade's Pretend, from the album A Twist In My Story. I would've never know about this song if Stuart didn't let me use his Spotify account. Apparently I'm an idiot for not having Spotify. Oh wells.
The lyrics of this song are really beautiful. Not how I feel right now, but still hauntingly beautiful.
It seems all of these words couldn't be further from the truth
How did I get here?
What did I do?
Your eyes, telling me lies
And making me find myself
While you have your agenda
A life to pursue
So please
Let me be free from you
And please
Let me be free
I can face the truth
I'm blind to all of your colors
That used to be rainbow then
My eyes, where did they go to?
Why disappear?
It's hard to be all alone
I never got through your disguise
I guess I'll just go
And face all my fear
So please
Let me be free from you
And please
Let me be free
I can face the truth
Put down your world
Just for one night
Pick me again
So please
Let me be free from you
And please
Let me be free
I can face the truth
Oh crap, just saw your text. Damn it, I forgot my phone was on silent AND in my bag.
I miss you too.
