I'm in school, trying to work on my dissertation.
I'm hungry, I'm bored and it's freezing in here. Honestly, do they need to turn the air conditioning way up? There are like 3 people in the entire lab. Plus it's not even sunny today.
Going to head over to Cotton Mills later in the afternoon to see Tope. Should be nice to catch up again.
Things seem to be going good overall with my work. I've found quite a few sources, so I've got quite a lot of reading to do. My supervisor thinks everything is alright so far, so yay for that. The interim report's due next Friday, so I've got a whole lot of typing to do for next week. I aim to do about 6000 words. :)
Stuart's recommended 750words.com to do my dissertation. I think that's a great idea, so I'm gonna give it a try. Can't be that hard, 750 words a day, right? Hopefully, on a good day, I'll do twice that. :)
Gonna try and recap the last few days as fast as I can so I can grab some lunch and get back to work.
Went back to Mansfield on Friday for the weekend. Dave and Hayley (Stu's friends) hosted a barbeque and poker night, so we went over to their new house after dropping off our things at Stu's house. They have an extremely excitable young Labrador called Olly. Such a cute dog! His tail does hurt a lot when it slaps against your bare leg though, haha!
Had extremely crap luck with poker, and was second to be out. :( But it was still fun to watch the others play. Stuart came second and won 15 quid, and Hayley won first place, winning a whopping £30. Fun times! :)
Saturday and Sunday was spent curling up on the couch and watching films, which was basically the most ideal way to spend the weekend. :) However, it was a pain having to get up at 6.30 on Monday morning so we could catch the train back to Nottingham.
Yesterday, Rik and Tsomo decided to come over to take a look at the new place. We ended up drinking (well, sort of) downstairs and in the common room. Was nice to see Tsomo again.
Found a new song yesterday that hopefully everyone else will like too. I first heard it on an episode of Bones (awesome series, by the way) a long time ago and I just thought of it again yesterday. It's called Bring On The Wonder by Susan Enan, with Sarah McLachlan doing the background vocals. I love Susan Enan's voice. It's so fitting for a song like this.
Great, now I feel all melancholic, especially when I remember the Bones episode.
I can't see the stars anymore living here
Let's go to the hills where the outlines are clear
Bring on the wonder
Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long
I fell through the cracks at the end of our street
Let's go to the beach, get the sand through our feet
Bring on the wonder
Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long
Bring on the wonder
We got it all wrong
We pushed you down deep in our souls for too long
I don't have the time for a drink from the cup
Let's rest for a while 'til our souls catch us up
Bring on the wonder
Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long
Bring on the wonder
We got it all wrong
We pushed you down deep in our souls, so hang on
Bring on the wonder
Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long
