Movies and Shooting Stars

Hmm. This whole "updating more" thing isn't really working.

I'm supposed to be working on Java now, but I got distracted. :)

I've done 1 exercise today. Lots more to do. Sigh.

Stuart and I have Unlimited cards at Cineworld now. This means we can watch all the movies we want for only £13.50 a month! The day we got the cards (Monday), Stu printed our temporary passes out at his workplace, and we saw Toy Story 3 in 3D and Inception on the same night.

Toy Story 3 is awesome! I saw Toy Story 2 some time last week and it was amazing, but Toy Story 3 trumps the lot. Yup, I knew I was gonna weep through that movie, so I actually bought a packet of tissues for that purpose. They came in very useful indeed! Only the theatre wasn't very full, so I had to control the amount of sniffling I did! But I'm pretty sure the girl in the row in front of me was sobbing on her boyfriend's shoulder too, so I wasn't the only one crying! But there were funny parts as well, so it was all good. In fact, I laughed through my tears during some sad parts too! Amazing film overall. Needless to say, I walked out of Toy Story 3 with very puffy red eyes.

After a trip to the bathroom for a futile attempt at salvaging my wrecked makeup (and indeed, wrecked face!), we bought our tickets for Inception and then had Subway for dinner.

Inception is pretty brilliant too. It's one of those films where your mind couldn't wander and you had to concentrate entirely on the film, otherwise you'd lose the storyline. The cinematography was superb, but the music was kind of irritating. Those who've seen Shutter Island will know what I'm talking about. I swear, the entire score is one note, just at different pitches and octaves. Freakin' insane. However, I didn't find Inception that difficult to get. It was very interesting, and the concept is a little hard to grasp, but it's actually quite easy to get the whole story. Wasn't as hard work trying to get the plot as most people made out to be.

We got back pretty late after the movies, and were both very tired. But we still managed to play Bejeweled 2 for awhile, haha! Stu also played some other game and got a trophy before he finally went to bed.

On Tuesday, Stuart and I were still very excited about our Unlimited cards, and so we made another trip to the cinema after Stu finished work to see The A-Team and Twilight: Eclipse. The A-Team is really funny, and as most would expect, very ridiculous as well. Bradley Cooper is freakin' hot! (Sorry, the only reason I'm gonna watch The A-Team is for him!) Ok, fine, Liam Neeson as well then.

Twilight: Eclipse is everything I wanted it to be. It didn't really follow the book very closely, but it was still not bad. I love Edward Cullen! Bella (Kristen Stewart) just irritated me throughout the film. She wears a wig because her real hair's really short now for another film, and it's really obvious, which annoyed me even more. The fight scene between the vampires and werewolves was awesome. Can't wait for Breaking Dawn now! Kelly says they're making that into 2 films because the book was so long. Kind of what they've done with the last Harry Potter film (which I totally want to see too!).

I just glanced out the window and the weather is SHIT.

Last night, Stuart wanted to see the northern lights, so we went outside at 1am, which was supposedly the optimum time to see them. However, it was too cloudy to see anything. Haha, when we first went outside, I thought a hazy cloud was what we were looking for! It was quite cold, even though I'd wrapped up in a giant pink jumper. I got tired of standing and staring up after awhile (your neck gets all cramped up!), so I lay down on the ground to look at the sky.

Then, suddenly, I saw this streak across the sky. It was a shooting star! I'd never seen a shooting star before, so I was understandably quite excited, bouncing around like a kid who sees snow for the first time. What's more, I saw two more after that. Pretty amazing, seeing 3 shooting stars on the same night.

Such simple little things like looking at the stars in the night sky (preferably when it's not cloudy so you can actually see the stars), or taking a walk just because you feel like it, or just lying on the grass in the sun... All such amazing things to do, especially with someone special. I wonder why people don't do it more often. It's inexpensive and easy to do. I don't get it. I mean, it's fun to go out with friends and have a few drinks or whatever, but it's nice to go somewhere quiet with that special someone. You don't even have to talk or look at each other. Just being there with one another is pretty great too.

Sorry, the over-romantic gland that only I seem to possess had some sort of fit just now.

Such a simple phrase, but my heart beats faster every time I hear or say it. :)

This song sure fits my mood now. :)
